At the office of Jennifer Cho DDS, our 94705 dentist handles toothaches and emergencies, at our high tech offices in Berkley. Patients will find our office equipped with the latest in intra-oral cameras, radiography and digital devices. Patients with toothaches or who have had a tooth knocked out, also known as a dislodged tooth, should call our emergency line immediately.

The toothache can be signified by pain around the tooth or gums or jaws. It may be caused by something like a cavity or cracked or broken tooth. Sometimes an exposed tooth root can cause severe toothaches as well. Symptoms include sensitivity to hot and cold liquids or foods, pain and swelling, or redness along the site. Usually a toothache can be fixed with a filling, but if not we can extract the tooth before it becomes infected with something like an abscess. We use anesthetics when we pull the tooth, so it is completely painless. Healing time is usually only a day or two while there was a little bit of bleeding, the patient can go back to work in normal activities within a day.

A dental emergency can also mean a tooth has been dislodged from the mouth or pushed back into the socket. If this is the case, we may need to reposition the tooth. If the tooth is healthy, no other treatment is necessary, but if the tooth is damaged inside down to the pulp, which is inside the tooth and delicate, a root canal may be required by our 94705 dentist. We are open Monday through Thursday and Friday by appointment only, but if you have a dental emergency, please don’t hesitate to call us right away to see if we can fit you into our schedule, or create a time slot immediately in order to get you in and get your tooth fixed as quickly as possible. Our goal is to keep our patients pain free and to have healthy teeth.
